UP Architecture Forum
Advocating for Filipino Architecture since 1981
The UP Architecture Forum is the longest standing student organization in the UP College of Architecture that aims to instill among its members and other people the need to pursue a truly relevant architecture for the Filipino people.
Arki Forum was a significant part of the resurfacing of student organizations in the UP student movement during the Martial Law period. In August 1980, a group of students from the College of Architecture came together to form the college’s first student organization now called the UP Architecture Forum. In the face of opposition from the College Administration, the first members vigilantly asserted their rights to organize in the college—later receiving official recognition in August 1981.Over 40 years later, AF members continue to be a family to one another, collectively organizing symposia, competitions, exhibits, etc. centered on Filipino Architecture. Each member of AF has always had unique individual goals, but one thing is common to all of them: they believe that the UP Architecture Forum should be an organization where members and other people can collectively learn to be of service to the studentry and the Filipino people.
